Common Errors Explained

A quick guide to what those warnings actually mean

Sometimes when using Ongage Studio, you’ll see system messages or error alerts. These don’t always mean something is broken — but they do point to something you need to adjust or complete before your Agent can run properly.

Below is a reference table of the most common error messages, what they mean, and how to fix them quickly.

Error: “Missing required input”

What it means:
A required field was left blank in your Agent setup — usually Topic, CTA Goal, or Input Source.

How to fix it:
Scroll through your input panel and look for any fields marked with a red asterisk or border. Fill those in, then rerun the Agent.

Error: “Data Stream returned no content”

What it means:
The Data Stream attached to this Agent didn’t find any relevant articles within the selected filters or timeframe.

How to fix it:

  • Preview the Data Stream directly
  • Expand your publication window (e.g. 24h → 72h)
  • Reduce overly specific filters
  • Add more sources if needed

See 9.6 – Troubleshooting Data Stream Misfires for a full guide.

Error: “Model not available” or “Invalid model selected”

What it means:
The selected LLM model is either temporarily offline, not supported for this Agent type, or no longer part of your plan.

How to fix it:

  • Reopen Advanced Configuration
  • Select a fallback model like GPT-4.1 or Claude 3.5
  • Save and rerun

If this happens often, contact support to review your workspace model access.

Error: “Output too long” or “Response truncated”

What it means:
The model tried to return more text than the token or formatting limit allows.

How to fix it:

  • Shorten the prompt or reduce input length
  • Lower temperature (to reduce verbosity)
  • Choose a model with higher token support (e.g. GPT-4.1)

Error: “Image model not configured”

What it means:
Your Agent is set to generate images, but no Image Model has been selected.

How to fix it:
Go to Advanced Configuration and select an image model (e.g. Ideogram, Imagen, or Flux). Then rerun the Agent.

Error: “Article not saved – conflict detected”

What it means:
Two people tried to edit or save the same article at the same time, or a session expired before the save completed.

How to fix it:

  • Refresh the page
  • Copy your content to avoid loss
  • Save again once the session resets

If the issue persists, duplicate the article and continue working from the copy.

Error: “Output failed – retry later”

What it means:
This is a general system timeout or temporary model overload.

How to fix it:

  • Wait 30–60 seconds
  • Refresh the page
  • Retry your Agent

If you’ve retried multiple times with no change, contact support.

Summary

Most Studio errors are simple configuration issues — not system failures. The message is there to help you adjust something and keep moving.

If an error doesn’t resolve after one or two attempts, or if something feels unclear, reach out to support. We’re here to help you get back on track fast.
