Glossary of Common Terms
A shared language for how Studio works.
This glossary defines the most important terms used throughout Ongage Studio. Use it as a reference when setting up your workspace, configuring Agents, or reading documentation.
All definitions reflect actual system behavior and terminology.
Term | Definition |

Agent | A modular AI tool designed to perform one specific content task, such as writing, summarizing, verifying quotes, translating, or tagging. Each Agent has structured input fields, runs individually, and produces reusable outputs. |
Agent Category | A classification that groups Agents by function. Categories include Article, Email, Writing, and Utilities. |
Article | A long-form content output created by Agents such as Blog Post Generator, Listicle Generator, or SEO Focus Article. Articles are stored in My Content → My Articles. |
Boost | A Data Stream rule that increases the priority score of specific sources, topics, entities, or tags so they appear more often in outputs. |
Brand Guidelines | A set of optional editorial instructions used to guide Agent outputs. These can be filled manually or pulled from saved “Default Texts inside fields.” |
Brand Voice | A configurable persona or writing style that controls tone, structure, vocabulary, punctuation, and emotion in all generated outputs. Can be applied at the Agent or Site level. |
Cache Buster | A hidden Agent setting that ensures a fresh result is generated during each run. Always set to true. |
Chain / Chaining | Connecting two or more Agents so that the output from one becomes the input for the next. Used to build multi-step, automated content flows. |
Cluster | A group of related articles detected within a Data Stream, often tied to the same topic, theme, or news event. |
Data Stream | A curated feed of real-time source articles from the internet. Data Streams use filters, scoring rules, and source controls to provide relevant input for Agents. |
Default TextsInside Fields | A preset content block used when no custom Brand Guidelines are provided. This ensures Agents always follow a fallback editorial standard. |
Desired Tone | A dropdown input used when Brand Voice is not selected. Sets the emotional or stylistic tone (e.g., Witty, Calm, Reflective). |
Exclude | A Data Stream rule that completely removes certain sources, topics, people, or tags from being ingested or surfaced. |
Export | The process of saving content in a format that can be downloaded or routed to another system. Formats include Plain Text, HTML, JSON, or XML. |
Feature Image Toggle | A configuration option inside many writing Agents that enables generation of a header or top image. |
Filter | A control used in Data Streams to limit article ingestion by keyword, topic, person, organization, domain, or metadata tag. |
Humanizer | An Agent that rewrites content to improve natural tone, readability, or realism. Often used to reduce AI detection scores. |
ImageModel | The model used by an Agent to generate images. Common models include Ideogram v3 balanced or Ideogram v3 turbo. |
Input Field | A structured field used to configure an Agent. Inputs include topics, URLs, text blocks, number values, or dropdowns. |
Input_Source | A required input field that supplies content for most Agents. This can be a URL, article, Data Stream, or custom text. |
LLMModel | The large language model used to power an Agent. Examples include Claude 3.7, GPT-4o, or O1 Mini. |
Listicle | A numbered list-style article output created by the Listicle Generator Agent. Common formats include “Top 10,” “Best of,” or “X Things You Didn’t Know…” |
Metadata | A hidden Agent setting that defines the output type: Plain Text, HTML, JSON, or XML. |
My Agents | A content library showing every Agent you’ve configured or run. Includes past inputs, results, and run history. |
My Articles | A section of My Content where all blog posts, explainers, listicles, and written outputs are stored. |
My Content | The central repository where all output from Agents is stored. Includes articles, newsletters, images, and configuration history. |
My Image Library | A repository of all images generated or uploaded inside Studio. Can be filtered, reused, or exported. |
My Newsletters | A section of My Content that stores newsletter outputs created using Agents like Newsletter Topic Brainstorming or Welcome Email Generator. |
Penalize | A Data Stream rule that lowers the score of certain metadata items or sources without fully excluding them. |
Placeholder | A variable token inside an Agent prompt that gets replaced with your selected input (e.g., {{Input_Source}} , {{BrandVoice}} ). |
Prompt | The structured instruction behind each Agent that combines static logic with your inputs to guide the generation. |
Publish Format | A hidden Agent setting that defines the output type: Plain Text, HTML, JSON, or XML. |
Quote Verifier | An Agent that checks whether quotes in your content appear in a specific source article. Used for editorial accuracy. |
Run Agent | The action of executing an Agent using filled input fields. Output is stored in My Content. |
Scheduled Run | A time-based trigger that executes an Agent automatically, often used for newsletters or recurring tasks. |
Score / Scoring | A numerical ranking used inside Data Streams to prioritize higher-quality or more relevant articles. |
Section Count | A configuration field for listicles or image articles that controls how many numbered entries are generated. |
Site | A workspace that groups Brand Voices, Agents, Data Streams, and outputs. Sites represent real-world destinations like websites or newsletter feeds. |
Tag | A label applied to generated content for sorting, searching, or tracking purposes. Can reflect campaign, topic, format, or source. |
Template | A saved Agent configuration, including all input values and options. Used to rerun or duplicate content setups. |
Trivia Article | A quiz-style article output generated by the Trivia Article Generator. Common in listicle or engagement formats. |
Utilities | A class of Agents used for system tasks like quote extraction, grammar correction, translation, or AI detection. |
Verification | The process of confirming factual content or quote accuracy using Agents like Quote Verifier or Source Extractor. |
